Julie has years of training & education ranging from Cartoon University, L’Ecole Supérieure des Arts St-Luc in Bruxelles, to The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.

Julie is a process-orientated artist, working in new ways at many stages of film, art, writing and illustrations.

One big part of her creative life includes being an award-winning Film Director. She has worked years in The Danish Film Industry and has been awarded multiple grants by The Danish Arts Foundation / Ministry of Culture.

Her first premiered short film “Mambo” was nominated a CARTOON d´OR for best European animation. Her last premiered fiction “Bobby” won a Danish Academy Award.

Another big part of her life is the huge adventure of building and designing a gem of a mountain house in the highlands of Guatemala. Over the years she has taken photos, made drawings and written about her decision to move from the Kingdom of Denmark and settle down at the mythical Lake Atitlán overlooking volcanos and sea creatures.

She is now in the very process of making a an illustrated book about all this.
